Dick Staber (vocal, mandolin) and Judith Chasnoff (vocal, guitar) have been performing their unique brand of folk and bluegrass-based acoustic music since 1993.

Even in their original numbers, Staber and Chasnoff maintain a pure, traditional sound--a sound reminiscent of the "brother" duets of the 1930's, particularly the Monroe brothers.  In their evocative and focused performances they bring the material to life through pristine harmonies and expressive mandolin breaks, well-grounded in solid rhythm.  

Note: For venues which call for a three or four piece band they are joined by good friends Daryl Smith (banjo) and Steve Feinbloom (bass).

Dick Staber's 1975 album, "Pickin' Around the Cookstove" will soon be re-released by Rounder Records on cd and via downloads.
This all-instrumental classic (with one Staber vocal on a unique arrangement of "Darlin' Corey) produced by Dick Staber, features Dick on mandolin, Bob Dalsemer on guitar and mandolin, Tom Neal on banjo, Tracy Schwarz on fiddle and Jim Thomas, bass. One More Journey is a collection of 15 songs recorded by Staber and Chasnoff during the winter of 2004. It includes 9 Staber originals, a few lovingly-chosen traditional numbers and two superb songs written by people they know ( Elaine Vachon of Quebec and Vermont's own Pete Sutherland). 	-Judith plays a 1975 Martin D-41 guitar. -Dick plays a Gibson F-5 circa 1940 mandolin he has owned since 1964, a Weber "Gallatin" purchased in 2003, or a 2004 mandolin by builder Joseph Campanella Cleary (shown below).
